Experimental study on repeatedly loaded foundation soil strengthened by wraparound geosynthetic reinforcement technique

In the recent past, potential benefits of wraparound geosynthetic reinforcement technique for constructing reinforced soil foundations have been reported. This paper presents experimental study on behaviour model strip footing resting sandy bed with in and planar forms under monotonic repeated loadings. The layers were laid according to ratio minimise scale effect. It is found that same amount material, resulted less settlement comparison models. efficiency increased increase load amplitude rate total cumulative substantially decreased number cycles. has shown about 45% lower average unreinforced model, while double-layer 41% at cost approximately twice material 1.5 times occupied land width ratio. Moreover, models much greater stability their counterpart when subjected incremental loading.
